Elyse Wild is an award-winning journalist who covers health equity in Indian Country through a solutions-focused lens, with an emphasis on the overdose epidemic and Missing and Murdered Indigenous People.
She is currently the Senior Health Equity Editor at Native News Online.
Her work has been published in The Guardian, Elle Magazine, National Geographic, Tribal Business News, McClatchy and NPR’s Washington State affiliate station.
Elyse is a Pulitzer Center grantee and the recipient of the Excellence in Recovery Journalism Award 2024 by Faces and Voices of Recovery. In 2024, her article on addiction prevention in Native communities was recognized as one of the year’s standouts by the Pulitzer Center.
She publishes a weekly newsletter called Vulgar Advice, is the co-host of the Missed Connections Podcast and host of the upcoming Dead Pets Podcast.
